Most of the artificial intelligence conversation in British Columbia happens in Vancouver. For the people building and running businesses east of the Port Mann, that has meant a bridge, a parking fee, and most of an evening gone before the first real conversation starts.

Coleman Technologies CEO Darren Coleman is helping bring the BC+AI community to the Fraser Valley as founder of FV+AI, a new regional chapter connecting people interested in artificial intelligence from Langley to Chilliwack.

At the end of August, I spent a week in Texas attending two very different conferences back to back.

VISION 26 in Dallas brought together IT and cybersecurity providers from across North America, including a keynote from former White House CIO Theresa Payton. AI Profit Con in Austin brought together entrepreneurs, advisors, and business leaders focused on where AI is actually creating value.

Different audiences. Different conversations. But I came home from both with the same conclusion.
